We were lucky enough to be given the opportunity to meet the printers at Duffield in Leeds, this informative visit rounded up everything we'd been learning with Lorenzo. Contextualising all we had been taught. We were sat down for a presentation regarding sending work to them, they also gave us tips such as:
- Considering the binding when designing how close text or images are close to the centre fold.
- Although Duffield cannot do things such as foiling or embossing they have a relationship with others so that they can get these things done. Price increases however, due to the increased numbers of more-overs.
- Everything is price driven - so less interesting output. (usually)
- Always use pdf + involve pre-flight check
