Advice - branding

Letterheads

  • Put content in
  • Practicality of type the company will use on the letter. Suggest optimum words per line.
  • If designing a letterhead tell them what font size and leading
  • Be aware that they may need to enter a reference number (usually top left), so very rarely fill that space.
  • Make sure you find out where things can't go.
  • No one reads sideways so if there needs to be some type added this can be helpful.
  • If transparency is dropped it will not effect the heirachy.

Business Cards

  • Address - if no address then a website is good to create a sense of trustworthyness.
  • If no website then put home address but low heirachy.
  • Leading - good to give white space.
  • If 'GRAPHIC DESIGNER' is top heirachy then may appear experienced and confident.
  • Taking a 'trendy' typeface reduces the size of your target audience.
