End of module self assessment.

What skills have you developed through this module and how effectively do you think you have applied them?

Since the beginning of term I have learnt a lot such as: what illustrator is and how to use it, how to manage my time during projects, my knowledge of the anatomy of type, how to develop an idea and generally better time management. All of these improving how I work and being more efficient.

What approaches to/methods of research have you developed and how have they informed your design development process?

Throughout this module we have been encouraged to research that little bit more and develop that little bit more. For example our research brief over reading week was fairly extensive, however, I can see the benefits from such detailed research as it gives us more knowledge on a subject and a better platform to start designing from.

What strengths can you identify in your work and how have/will you capitalise on these?

The main strengths in my work is my use of software, I was rubbish before and this module has allowed me and encouraged me to use illustrator especially a lot more. I will capitalise on this by generally using it more. Hopefully leading to more effective time spent on work and sometimes a better quality of work.

What weaknesses can you identify in your work and how will you address these more fully?

Despite my work during this module has not been in the style or to the level I would have liked it to be it has been so beneficial in regards to learning about the demands of the course and software. The main weakness I will address is my development. I have worked a lot in my head and not shown decisions I've made on my blog or in sketchbooks.

Identify five things that you will do differently next time and what do you expect to gain from doing these?

-Increase development
-Blog more efficiently
-Produce more of my ideas, so I have a more educated idea when I have to choose one to progress with.
-Manage my time more effectively from the beginning of a brief
-Use design sheets more and create more visually based development.
